In some ways a non-story as all the operations appear to have been carried out with strict adherence to international law. In other ways, most definitely a story of interest as Russia makes a show of extending their influence militarily into the Asian Pacific with the help of Indonesia.
Russia appears to be looking for and making friends in its bid for further influence. The story also makes reference to significant military help to Fiji, which isn’t going to come without strings attached.
ustralia isn’t going to be that happy about long range bombers with nuclear capabilities being stationed within range of its territory.
see I saw this story and the one about how the royal navy had to 'escort' some russian boats near UK waters over chrimble. Bit tinfoil here, but is this just normal-for-russia and being talked up because ooh the russian hackers stole brexit and got trump elected, the bear is awake so be scared stuff.
